Return to Deemer Outline

1.  Catharine2 DEEMER  (Frederick1) was born 15 Feb 17851,2, and died 4 Jul 1863.  She married Alexander FINDLEY, son of Archibald FINDLEY and Mary POE.  He was born 31 Mar 17883,4, and died 12 Mar 1876 in Brush Valley Twp. Indiana Co. PA5.

Notes for Catharine DEEMER:

Buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Indiana, PA is a Catharine FINDLEY Feb. 15, 1785 -- Jul. 4, 1863. We now presume that this is the correct person, as nearby is buried Catharine's daughter Lydia (Findley) Caldwell.

There were no estate records in the Indiana Courthouse for either Alexander or Catharine to verify or deny that this is the correct person to have been Catharine Deemer.

WESTWARD HO! --A company of active men from this county and Westmoreland will start for the "Far West" on next Thursday, with a design of purchasing lands and engaging in business.  COLONELS M'QUAIDE AND COULTER are amongst the number.  WILLIAM H. KINTER and JAMES G. CALDWELL, of this place, are also of the company.  The tide of emigration is running briskly this season from all points in the El Dorado of the West, transferring thither much of the capital and enterprise of the States, whereby the wilderness must necessarily be made to blossom as the rose, and villages and cities caused to spring up where hitherto the savage and the wild beast have exercised undisturbed dominion.
