At 9:15
o'clock last evening, a member of the family of Jacob Otto, No. 810 Walnut
avenue, went into the room occupied by Mr. Otto's aged mother, Mrs. Susan Otto,
and found her dead, her death being due, it is thought, to heart trouble.
Deceased would have been 78 years of age had she lived until next Saturday. She
was a widow and the mother of eleven children, eight of whom survive her. These
are: Samuel, of Blair Furnace; William,
of Bellwood; Jacob and Alexander Otto, Mrs. Maggie Blair, Mrs. Sarah Lindsey,
and Mrs. Slogenhop, of this city. Besides these she
is survived by three sisters and one brother, viz: Mrs. Sallie Glass, of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs.
Mary Glass and Mrs. Margaret Otto, of this city, and Mr. Christ Hanley, of
Sharpsburg.
