Hi
Michael.
The first
Phebe we knew nothing about and if it is my Lewis Ketcham who she married he would only have been 17 in 1799
if that would have been the date in the bible. Everything else matches. Lewis
is the son of James and Rhoda (Osborn) Ketcham born
28 Jan 1782 in Pinebrook, Morris, NJ. His mother, and this is all we know about her
so far, was born 12 Oct 1758 Morris NJ and died 9 May 1847?. They married 1778. James Ketcham was
born 26 Mar 1753 Morris NJ and died 1820?
Lewis' siblings were John, Joshua, Hanna, Phebe,
James, Nathaniel, Charlotte, Samuel, Nathaniel #2, Job, Abigail. All born same place as Lewis. Our records show Lewis as married to Phebe Johnson daughter of Isaac and Lida
(Miller) Johnson. No marriage date yet. Lewis died 2-10-1855 age 73 and Phebe died 9 March 1870, both buried in Bates Fork Cemetery
on Fonner Run above Swarts
PA. Children are Abigail m. Wm. Tripp,
Rhoda m. Peter Vannest (my Line), Hanna m. Mathias
Pettit, Sophia m. Samuel Day Jr., Elsa m. Daniel M. Johnson, Elizabeth m. Arba Burt, Mary m. John Milliken. I also have a list of Samuel Day Sr. and wife
Sophia Haydens children, all 20 of them. So tell me what you think because the only
thing I can't figure out is the first Phebe but I
suppose they did marry young in those days and 17 wasn't too bad. The other thing is that there was a story for
many years that there was Delaware Indian somewhere in the Ketcham
line but we haven't been able to establish anything on it. I will be waiting to hear from you. DENISE IN IOWA nrogers@muscanet.com
