Robert Lucas to Alexr. McIntire
Know all men by these
presents that I Robert Lucas of Westmoreland County Armstrong Township and
state of Pennsylvania for an in consideration of the sum of ninety pounds good
and lawful money of the state of Pennsylvania to me who have bargained &
sold to Alexr. McIntire Westmoreland County &
state of Pennsylvania Derry Township have bargained and sold a certain tract of
land containing one hundred and a half acres to be run with a straight line
with allowance to be given off the end that the improvement is on situate on
the waters of Crooked Creek adjoining and to the southward of Jacob Anthony
including the crossings of the Kiskimihitis & the
Kitanian paths surveyed to a certain William
Armstrong on the 15th Day of March 1785 by virtue of a warrant bearing date the
5th Day of March 1785 and sold and conveyed to the said John Nicols by James Lawson and William Jack Commissonr.
of the County Westmoreland for the taxes of the years one thousand seven
hundred eighty five & one thousand seven hundred and eighty six as appears
more fully and at large by sd. Commissioners Deed to
the said John Nicholas bearing Date the eleventh Day of June in the year one
thousand seven hundred and eighty seven reference thereunto being had to have
and to hold unto the said Alexr. McIntire his heirs
and assigns the above described tract of land with all the houses buildings
edifices woods, under woods, ways, waters, watercourses with all and singular
the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining from me my
heirs and assigns and from all other persons claiming or to claim by from or
under them or either of them subject nevertheless to the fees to become due
from this present date to the Lord of the soil. In Testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of April in the year of our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven.

The McIntires
to the McIntires
Know all men by these
presents that we Alexr. McIntire & Issabella McIntire of Armstrong Township, Indiana County
and state of Pennsyl. for an in consideration of our
maintenance that the said Alexr. McIntire and Issabella my wife well & truly to be maintained in a
decent manner in cloathing bedding washing &c
during our natural lives which God has appointed us and to give us the sd. Alexr. & Issabella McIntire a decent Christian burial, by Martha
McIntire, Elizabeth McIntire & Bartraigde
McIntire of township county & state aforesaid. Divet
the sd. Alexr. & Issabella McIntire Do resign over and convey all our right
title interest and claim of an in and to a certain tract or parcel of land
situate in township county & state aforesaid adjoining lands of Jacob
Anthony & others, on the waters of Crooked creek, being the same place that
was sold by William Armstrong to the sd. McIntire, as
by agreement bearing date the first day of March one thousand eight hundred
& three will more fully appear. And we the sd. Alexr. & Issabella McIntire
do hereby assign & convey over all our movable property unto the sd. Martha, Elizabeth and Bartraigde
McIntire to remain theirs their heirs or assigns forever. Also we the said
Martha, Elizabeth & Bartraigde McIntire do bind
ourselves our heirs excrs. or assigns or either of
them in the penal sum of Eight hundred Dollars for the due performance of the sd. Alexr. and Issabella McIntires maintenance
and in testimony of the above conveyance we have here in the presence of each
other set our hands & seals this Fifteenth day of October in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five 1805.

Major Joseph Armstrong of Norriton Twp. Montgomery Co. Pennsylvania, sole executor of
the last will & testament of William Armstrong, late of the same place, of
the one part;
Alexander McIntire of
Armstrong Twp. Indiana Co. Pennsylvania of the other part.
Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania by patent or grant dated 18 May 1803, granted unto William
Armstrong a certain tract of land called "Braintree" situated on the
waters of Crooked Creek, in then Armstrong County, containing 321 3/4 acres.
Said patent recorded at Lancaster in the Rolls Office in Patent Book 51, p. 83.
William Armstrong signed
his will 11 February 1805, appointing as executor Major Joseph Armstrong as
aforesaid, who now sells for $500 to Alexander McIntire, said tract of land,
described as follows:
Beginning at a marked white
oak tree in line with Jacob Anthony's land.
Thence by the same, north
55 degrees, east 123 perches to a Gum.
Thence by David White's
land south 45 degrees, east 92 perches to a Spanish Oak.
Thence by Uriah Matson's land, south 8 degrees, east 50 perches to a
post being a corner of William Cochran's land.
Thence by said Cochran's
land, south 60 degrees, west 175 perches to a White Oak.
Thence by vacant land north
8 degrees, west 170 perches to the place of beginning.
Containing 160 3/4 acres
& allowances of six per cent for roads &c., this being the moiety or
equal half part of the above recited tract of 321 acres 3/4.

No. 30. Alexander McEntire's Will
In the name of God Amen. The
fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven
I Alexander McEntire of the county of Indiana being
very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for
the same; and calling to mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it
appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and
testament, that is to say Principally and first of all I give recommend my Soul
to God that gave it, and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried
in a Christian like and decent manner, at the discretion of my Executors,
nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again
by the mighty power of God, and touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath
pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and devise and dispose of the same
in the manner following, that is to say. 1st In the first place I will that all
my just debts and funeral expenses be discharged. 2d In the second place I give
and bequeath to Isabella my wife, all my household furniture to be hers forever
and also that she receive annually at the joint expence
of my two son-in-laws John Fleming and Mathew Allison twenty bushels of wheat;
Likewise at their joint expense she is to have one horse creature and two cows
kept; both the wheat and the keeping of the stock to continue during her
natural lifetime. I farther will and allow to her one black mare and colt, and
two milch cows, and if she does not think proper to
live with either of the above mentioned son-in-laws, they are at their joint
expense to build her a commodious cabin house on such part of the place as she
and them can agree upon. I also will and allow that the said John Fleming and
Mathew Allison shall within four years from my decease give to my daughters
Martha Orr and Batrick Blair, to each one horse
creature worth forty dollars. I farther will and allow to Rebecca Fleming and
Elizabeth Allison all my real estate to be divided betwixt them into two equal
shares as it respects quantity. Rebecca Fleming to have the West or lower end
of the place including the mention house and buildings; the partition line to
run across the place from North to South or in that direction; the land to be
divided and the line to be established at the diseration
and under the direction of my Executors, I farther will and allow to the said
Rebecca Fleming and Elizabeth Allison all the residue of my stock farming
utensils and every other I possess the whole to be divided into two equal
shares at the judgment and direction of my Executors, and in the last place I
make and ordain Robert Robison Esquire and John Robison my only and sole
Executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow
and disavow all and every other former testaments, and wills, and executors, by
me in any way before this time made, ratifying and confirming this and no other
to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my
hand and seal this day and year above written.
