**Death certificates for both Sarah (Means) Fletcher, and David F. Means show
their parents as Barnard Means & Rachel Fletcher. I don't know who this Elizabeth was. She could be Barnard's sister.
An interesting entry, taken verbatim, from p. 26 of St. Thomas the Apostle
Church Roman Catholic Church, compiled by James Biser Whisker, Ph. D.:
"Means, Elizabeth Trail, baptized 5 February 1855 [no additional
information; added later "suscepit Bernard Means] probably an adult
baptism"
Note: a very odd coincidence: the date
of baptism of the above Elizabeth Trail Means was the exact date of death of
Hugh Means. Could she have been Hugh's
estranged wife, since she appeared in the 1850 census (before Hugh's death) in
the family of Bernard Means?
