1. SUSANNAH5 SECRIST (SOLOMON4, JOHANNES3 SIEGRIST, BARTHOLOMEW2, BARTHOLOMAEUS1) was born 26 Apr 17741,2, and died 17 May 18573. She married JOHN MONN, SR. Aug 17963. He was born 16 Oct 17713,4, and died 11 Jul 18645.

JOHN MONN (born October 16, 1771 died July 11, 1864), presumably a son of the original Conrad, owned land in Quincy township. He was a member of the Seventh Day German Baptist Church at Snow Hill, and was a trustee of the Seventh Day Baptist Monastical Society of Snow Hill when the present meeting house at Snow Hill was erected in 1829. He married, August, 1796, Susannah (born April 26, 1774 died May 17, 1857), daughter of Solomon Sechrist, and had at least these four children:
1. Daniel, see page 39.
2. Elizabeth (born December 14, 1799 died July 1, 1883) was a member of the Orders of the Solitary at Snow Hill.
3. John, see page 39.

p. 39:
DANIEL MONN (born November 3, 1798 died September 12, 1863), son of John and Susannah (Sechrist) Monn, was a farmer, miller, distiller, and building contractor. He and his wife, Anna Maria ("Mary"; born September 30, 1802 died May 10, 1891), daughter of John and Anna Margaret (Harbaugh); see Volume I., page 69) Walter, both lie buried in the Shirk graveyard located along the Molly Pitcher highway, north of Chambersburg. They had at least ten children, viz.:
1. Susan (born February 21, 1822 died October 15, 1901) married the Rev. John Fetterhoff.
2. John, see page 42.
3. Jeremiah married Lydia Berger.
4. Mary web Abraham Stouffer.
5. Sarah married Samuel W. Clippinger.
6. Anna (1832 - 1907) married Samuel R. Ebersole.
7. Ellen M. married William McKee.
8. Cyrus J. (born September 12, 1836 died August 8, 1862).

JOHN MONN (born October 28, 1808, in Quincy township died October 19, 1858, in Quincy township), son of John and Susannah (Sechrist) Monn, was known as "John Monn, Jr." He was a farmer and cabinetmaker, and resided on the farm now being developed into apartments by the Quincy United Methodist Home. He is believed to have built the large brick residence of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Geesaman, at Quincy, and may also have erected the brick hotel on the northeastern corner of the "Square" in Quincy.
John Monn, Jr., married February 13, 1834, Dinah (born December 8, 1811 died April 26, 1888), daughter of Andrew Fahnestock, a Seventh Day German Baptist minister at both Ephrata, Lancaster county, and Snow Hill. They had three offspring:
1. Andrew Sylvester (born March 10, 1835 died October 23, 1903) married Isabelle Cook and was the father of the late Miss Emma C. Monnk, author of Historical Sketch of Snow Hill and a leading force in the German Seventh Day Baptist Church in the Twentieth century. He conducted the brick hotel on the northeastern corner of the "Square" in Quincy, and reportedly, in a state of intoxication, rode his white stallion into the hotel tavern, up the stairs, and out the back door of the second-floor dance hall. In 1870 he erected the large brick hotel on the southeastern corner of the "Square," now owned by the United Methodist Church, and conducted a tavern and dance hall there. A.S. Monn hanged himself in the "Nunnery" Mill at Snow Hill.
2. Alfred Garver (born August 26, 1837 died October 24, 1868) never married.
3. Celeste Fahnestock (born June 22, 1841 died April 24, 1915) never married. She dwelt with the family of her brother Andrew.
