Oliver Chorpening was born in Troy township August 26, 1858, died at his home in Ruggles township November 11, 1912, aged 54 years, 2 months and 15 days. A year ago Nov. 5th Mr. Chorpening underwent an operation and since that time he has made a heroic effort to regain his health. He spent last Winter, Spring, and part of the Summer in the hospital at Cleveland and at the home of his sister, Mrs. Elmer Richards of Lorain. But the pale horse and his rider followed him relentlessly and finally death touched him with his dart. He came back to Ruggles last August. Mr. Chorpening leaves three sons and a daughter, Clifton, who lives in Ashland, Lester, who lives in Cleveland, Miss Nellie and Roy, who live at the home. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday, Nov. 13, conducted by his pastor, Rev. E.B. Chase. He was buried in the cemetery at Ruggles, O. The family have the sympathy of the neighborhood in their sorrow; and especially the little boy who is left without father or mother.

Miss Nellie Chorpening intends to go to school in Wooster, and Roy will make his home in Cleveland with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Chorpening.
