21 September 2003: Added a section detailing descendants of my direct
ancestors Alexander and Isabella McINTIRE, Irish settlers of what is now western
Indiana County, Pennsylvania. Detailed descendants of four married daughters,
Martha McIntire Orr, Rebecca McIntire Fleming, Elizabeth McIntire Allison, and
my direct ancestor, Bartraigde (“Barty”) McIntire Blair.
15 January 2003: Added a section detailing descendants of Nathaniel
Hayden, Jr., and Abigail Osburn (or Osborn). The were residents of Rostraver
Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. There is also a section detailing
the ancestry of Nathaniel.
7 January 2003: Added a section detailing descendants of John Fisher
and Sarah Roberts, daughter of my ancestors John Roberts and Mary Shannon. This
information can be found under the Roberts heading.
11 December 2002: Added a section detailing descendants of my
ancestors Robert Morgan Roberts and Mary Richford. I descend through their
eldest son John and his wife Mary Shannon, but have compiled documentation on
most of John’s siblings as well.
9 October 2002: Added a section detailing descendants of my
ancestors John Heltzel / Helsel and Jane Tipton. I descend through their son
Henry and his wife Catharine Albright, but have compiled documentation on most
of Henry’s siblings as well.
13 September 2002: Added a section detailing descendants of my
ancestors Samuel Hainley and Elizabeth Shoenfelt. I descend through their
daughter Catherine, wife of Thomas Burns, but have compiled documentation on
most of Catherine’s siblings.
14 February 2002: Added a section detailing descendants of my
ancestors Thomas Jay and wife Bathsheba Morse of southern Bedford County, PA.
The vast majority of material concerns their son, my ancestor, Samuel Jay,
whose daughter Eliza was my great, great grandmother.
6 February 2002: Added a section detailing descendants of my
ancestors Harmon and Margaret Dick of Woodbury Twp. Bedford Co. PA, as well as
a section detailing descendants of my ancestors Daniel Means and Elizabeth
Sparks.
19 January 2002: Added a section showing images of original vital
records of Tenterden, County Kent, England, regarding the families of Huckstep,
Bigge, Tilden, Hatch.
19 December 2001: Added a section detailing descendants of my
ancestors Nicholas LAPE and Katherine SHUNK.
9 December 2001: Added two sections detailing ancestors and
descendants of my ancestor Johann Martin KLOTZ (1736-1776).
8 December 2001: Added a section detailing descendants of my
ancestors Joseph MORGAN and Deborah Falvy.
The great majority of this material deals with descendants of their son Richard
Morgan and wife Mary R. Hope, who emigrated to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
30 November 2001: Added sections for English ancestries of SUTTON and
HATCH, including images from The New England Historical & Genealogical
Register.
28 November 2001: Added sections for English ancestries of TILDEN,
HUCKSTEP, BIGGE, including images from The New England Historical &
Genealogical Register.
26 November 2001: Added section for Edward Hair, son of Matthew Hair
& Mary Roberts.
26 September 2001: Updated William Shunk and Peter Shunk outlines, as it
seems likely that Alexander was a son of Peter and not William as we had
previously thought.
10 May 2001: Added a section on the descendants of James SHAW
and Catherine KELLEY of early Bedford/Blair County, PA.
20 March 2001: Added a section on the descendants of Michael
REFFNER and Elizabeth ZIGLER of early Bedford/Blair County, PA.

28 August 2000: I created a section based on the family of
Frederick DEEMER and Lydia EBERHART of Indiana and Armstrong Counties, PA.
26 August 2000: I created a section based on the family of Peter
JOHNSTON and Sarah SNYDER of Indiana County, PA.
23 August 2000: I expanded the Siegrist section back several more
generations, to include the early family links in Baldenheim, Bas-Rhin, France.
20 August 2000: I added a new section detailing the descendants of
Johannes SIEGRIST, born in 1722 in Baldenheim, Bas-Rhin, France, and whose two
sons, John and Solomon "Secrist" were early settlers of Franklin
County, PA.
14 August 2000: I added a new section detailing the descendants of
Jacob RESSLER and Sarah HELSEL who lived for many years in East Wheatfield Twp.
Indiana County, PA. Their many descendants lived in Indiana County as well as
adjacent Westmoreland and Cambria Counties.
3 February 2000: I added a new section detailing the descendants of
Matthew HAIR and Mary ROBERTS of Somerset and Westmoreland Counties, PA.
30 October 1999: I added a new section detailing the descendants of
Thomas BURNS & Catharine HAINLEY of Blair County, PA.
12 October 1999: I reorganized the entire James McCurdy / Nancy
McKinney section, updated with new information.
29 May 1999: I just finished the remainder of Dr. Francis
McConaughy's "Old-time Recollections" articles, and posted them. My
next challenge will be to index them all.
8 May 1999: I added new material on the Robert Scott Colbert
& Rebecca Witherow family, originally from Hardy County, [West] Virginia,
and finally from Johnstown, Cambria County, PA, the town of my birth.
20 Apr 1999: I added new material on the Samuel Findley McCurdy
& Sarah Crawford Family, recently discovered in Columbiana County, Ohio.
Samuel was a son of Robert McCurdy & Isabella Findley.
29 Mar 1999: I added "My Favorite Links" to my home
page.
18 Mar 1999: I redesigned my "first page" because the
graphics were making it annoyingly long to load, plus I felt like a spring
"facelift." This redesign should also make it easier for me to make
additions and corrections.
12 Feb 1999: For my friends and relatives who check this
"What's New?" page, I just wanted to let you all know that I am still
alive, and will be updating the pages as I have the time. It's a lot of work!
18 Jan 1999: I made some updates to the descendants of James
McCurdy & Nancy McKinney, most notably in the families of Robert, Jane,
Margaret, and George Hill McCurdy.
20 Dec 1998: Several new "Old-time Recollections"
articles were discovered by Nancy McEwen. A previously missing section of the 9
March 1892 issue was added. It discusses several McConaughy relatives of the
author Francis McConaughy. We thought that August 1892 was the end of the
articles, but Nancy, browsing through the Ligonier "Echo" microfilm,
discovered several other articles, extending to May 1893. I will be working to
submit these articles as I transcribe them.
29 Nov 1998: I added several images of headstones to the various
McCurdy pages. Also, an image of Howard W. McCurdy, son of James Henry McCurdy
and Ellen E. Briner.
26 Nov 1998: I added a new section to the site, detailing the
descendants of James McCURDY and his wife Nancy McKINNEY.
7 Nov 1998: I have completed the transcription of Francis
McConaughy's "Old-Time Recollections" articles.
25 Oct 1998: Added a new section to this web site: A series of
articles written by my first cousin, 5 generations removed, Dr. Francis
McConaughy, in 1891 and 1892. These articles were published in the Ligonier, PA
"Echo" newspaper, and discuss early family and history of the
Ligonier Valley, where I grew up.
24 Oct 1998: I added images of the original death records of
Hans Wilhelm Schunck and his wife Catharina Margaretha Schwartz to the pages
that also contain their original birth records.
19 Oct 1998: I "jazzed up" the home page to make it
look nicer.
18 Oct 1998: I fixed broken links in the "Dull"
descendants area.
16 Oct 1998: I moved this "What's New?" page out to
the main home page, as I will soon be adding information on other families, so
I need this page to be available to all visitors.
16 Oct 1998: I created individual pages for each original
scanned image of a German vital record for Simon Schunck and his ancestors. These
can be accessed from the ahnentafel page. I also added the birth records for
Simon and his parents.
3 Oct 1998: Added data on families of two sons of William
Shunk, namely Alexander J. Shunk and Josiah Shunk. I had found census records
for an Alexander J. Shunk in Stark County, Ohio, and had erroneously assigned
him as a son of Peter rather than a son of William. This error has been fixed.
(Peter did also have a son named Alexander, but the one who married Harriet was
definitely a son of William.) One of the sons of Josiah, named Joseph L. Shunk,
has an interesting biography from a history on Stark County, Ohio. Follow the
links to his name.
27 Sep 1998: I finally figured out how to make Adam Shunk's
picture appear on the page where the two Crawford County, Ohio biographies of
him appear.
25 Sep 1998: Added two images to the "ahnentafel"
page: the original death records for Simon Schwartz and his wife Anna Dorothea
(Conrad) Schwartz. They were our immigrant's maternal grandparents.
25 Sep 1998: Updated birth and death information of Ann Maria
(Shunk) Albee, wife of Nelson Fletcher Albee and daughter of Adam Shunk. This
information is from the Kent County, Michigan death certificates of Ann and her
husband.
21 Sep 1998: Updated the Contact List by adding the name of
Steve Watson, my first contact person who is descended from Simon &
Susannah's son Jacob.
19 Sep 1998: Added an image of the original marriage record of
Simon Schwartz & Anna Dorothea Conrad to the "ahnentafel" page.
19 Sep 1998: Added an image of Simon Schunck's signature to the
page that displays his will.
18 Sep 1998: Added a new section, dealing with the descendants
of Jacob DULL & Catharine SECRIST.
12 Sep 1998: Added transcriptions of wills for Simon Shunk, Sr.
and for Daniel Coleman. Follow links in their respective family group sheets.
12 Sep 1998: Corrected date of death of Charles Holsopple, son
of Adam Holsopple & Salome Lape.
11 Sep 1998: Updated list of children of Jacob Stouffer and Anna
Reesor (daughter of Abraham Reesor & Christina Shunk, Christina being a
daughter of Jacob, who was a son of Simon Shunk).
11 Sep 1998: Courtesy of Donna Bumbarger, who sent me four
additional letters exchanged between Melissa Glassford & Ernest C. Johnson,
I am pleased to expand the page showing these letters.
11 Sep 1998: Added information from the I.O.O.F. cemetery in
Berlin, PA regarding the family of Daniel Coleman and Philippine
"Phoebe" (Shunk) Coleman, daughter of William. Follow links in
